Petalon is a flower delivery business on a mission – to make beautiful, seasonal and sustainable flowers more accessible to everyone.
Our values are rooted in quality and transparency, while our commitment to sustainable flower delivery is reflected in our ever-expanding regenerative farm in Cornwall, where we use British flowers whenever possible and take a planet-first approach in all that we do.
Founded by Florence Kennedy and run by her and her husband James, Petalon wants to demonstrate a more responsible way of sourcing and distributing flowers.
It’s no secret that the cut flower industry isn’t too kind on the environment, with flowers often travelling miles from places like Holland or Kenya. By using British flowers grown on our regenerative farm whenever possible, we can provide a more ethical flower delivery in the UK, with Cornish flowers delivered fresh to your door.
When we moved our family to Cornwall in May 2020 the additional space gave us the opportunity to start growing our own flowers. This has meant we can offer our customers more unusual varieties and colours of flowers that are grown on our own doorstep, while greatly reducing the amount of flowers we have to import.
We now have 85 acres of land, some of which is devoted to our growing operation but more than half of which is dedicated to local wildlife.
Petalon was founded by Florence Kennedy in East London in 2014, shortly after her husband James began his bicycle manufacturing business.
When James needed to send a bunch of flowers one day, they both realised there weren’t many authentic choices around. Surrounded by James’s bicycles, Florence and James began to form an idea for a better kind of flower delivery.
This is where we chronicle our hopes, dreams and plans for the business and the farm.
We cover pretty much everything from how we make choices about which flowers to grow to the techniques we use to keep them happy and healthy (without pesticides or synthetic fertilisers).
