British Flowers
We make no secret of the fact that it’s not possible to offer British flowers all year round because of the climate we live in – if we could, we absolutely would. As soon as our season allows, we use British flowers from our farm. We think of our homegrown flower content as a sliding scale throughout the year:
- March, April, May – early season: A limited supply of British flowers from our farm – single variety boxes (like poppies) and selection boxes begin as well as our Signature Bouquets starting to include a few homegrown stems as supply increases.
- June, July, August – peak season: A wide range of 100% homegrown products available as well as Signature Bouquets including a large selection of British flowers or all British flowers at our peak.
- September, October – late season: a decreasing supply of British flowers from our farm. Late summer flowers (like chrysanthemums) available in single variety boxes and possibly a few British flowers in our Signature Bouquets until all crops are finished.
- November to February – out of season: We import flowers from where they grow plentifully through winter for our year-round Signature Bouquets.
And just to be sure, we also label our products to show when something is 100% homegrown or contains British flowers or click on ‘where were these flowers grown?’ underneath the product names to see the British versus imported content.
