Crowdfunding – why now?

In the early days of a small business, so much of your success is down to a handful of customers who believe in your business and help spread the word about it. It’s like having a group of cheerleaders who support you and encourage you. If you’re lucky, this group of people grows. Of course, it’s vital you have a product and a service that makes customers come back (which we think we do) but without our customers helping spread the word, we wouldn’t be here.

As some of you know, we are about to launch a crowdfunding campaign. This goes live publicly in 2 weeks, but if you register your interest here you will get early access to our campaign tomorrow! This means you can be among the first to invest and we’re offering 30% off flowers for life for the first 20 investments of £100 or more. The wonderful thing about crowdfunding is it provides small businesses with the opportunity to grow, while offering customers a real tangible thing in return in the form of shares in the business. So why now?

If we can be as bold as to say this – we think we’ve got this flower delivery thing down. We are backed by a strong, dedicated team who are committed to providing a high quality product, excellent customer service and we all share a passion for sustainability which is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’ve used us for bicycle delivery or postal delivery, we hope we have proved this to you. We’ll work hard to continue proving this. We couldn’t be excited about this crowdfunding project if we weren’t also completely confident in what we do and the future of our business. We’re ready and raring to go.

Our goal with this campaign is to raise £100,000 with an army of small investors (investments start at £10). This money will be used on a nationwide marketing campaign. We believe we have the product, service, team and resources to take on nationwide delivery in a much bigger way, we just need to let the rest of the country know who we are.

Your investment will allow us to do this. It will also mean you own shares in our business (now that’s a cool thing to say down the pub). Your investment will help us bring beautiful, interesting and sustainable flowers to a wider audience. It will mean we can take on the corporate companies offering a boring, generic product in a less sustainable way. It means we can donate more money to Bee Collective and plant more trees.
