Where were these flowers grown?
The seeds for these wreaths were sown on our farm in Cornwall last winter, nurtured through the coldest months and planted out when the soil started to warm up. They've been sheltered from harsh winds and troublesome wildlife, netting and staked to grow tall and straight and then ripened into full bloom by the Cornish sun, cut when there had been a gap in the rain and hung upside down to dry for a few months. We wanted wreaths that were fizzing with texture so chose flowers and foliages that were unusual and came together to make a rich tapestry of forms. We have the candy pink little pompoms of gomphrena, feathery grasses, ornamental cress, bubbles of flax and tufts of rosey pink statice. Our florists have weaved these stems into wonderful wreaths ready to adorn your homes for Christmas.
